Helen Fowler - Director of Nursing

Helen Fowler qualified as a registered nurse at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and later went on to complete a Bachelor of Nursing at La Trobe University. Helen spent several years working in different hospitals in both surgical wards and emergency departments.

She enjoyed working at Maroondah Hospital as an ANUM in a busy surgical ward. After a break for children and study Helen returned to agency work. Areas worked in included both hospital ward work and emergency departments.

In 2002 Helen began working at Eastside Endoscopy and in 2003 became the Director of Nursing. To facilitate her knowledge in Endoscopy Helen joined the Gastroenterological Nurses College of Australia (GENCA) and has since joined the GENCA Victorian/ Tasmanian Committee. Her current position is the Victorian/Tasmania Regional Manager for GENCA. This educational organisation helps Gastroenterological nurses keep up to date with best practice in this specialty.

Outside of work Helen enjoys time with her children, gardening, walking her dogs and very occasionally going to the gym.
