Infection Control

We are committed to infection control and comply with pertinent guidelines and standards to ensure we have a comprehensive infection prevention and control program in place.

 

To achieve our accreditation status, our service standards and policies are regularly audited by an external assessor for compliance with GESA (Gastroenterological Society of Australia)/GENCA (Gastroenterological Nurses College of Australia) Infection Control in Endoscopy Guidelines and the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.

 

Hand Hygiene Australia

The purpose of the National Hand Hygiene Initiative (NHHI) is to develop a national approach to improving Hand Hygiene and monitor its effectiveness. This initiative is based on the World Health Organisation (WHO) - World Alliance for Patient Safety campaign – “Clean Care is Safer Care” launched in 2005.

 

Melbourne Endoscopy Group is committed to the Hand Hygiene Australia initiative with all staff having completed the online learning package.

 

Discharge

Melbourne Endoscopy Group provides comprehensive discharge instructions outlining expected post-procedure outcomes. This will ensure that patients are fully informed, prepared and can plan for their discharge.

 

Please note that you are not permitted to drive on the day of your procedure, so you must arrange to be driven home by a responsible adult.

 

Patient feedback

Melbourne Endoscopy Group values the opinions of all patients who attend our centres and we welcome any feedback you may have about your time with us. Your feedback is treated with the utmost confidentiality in accordance with our Privacy Statement.

 

You may receive a short survey during or shortly after your stay with us. We encourage you to take the time to fill this in, as your comments and suggestions enable us to constantly evaluate and improve where necessary the services we provide to our patients.
